The Best Restaurant for Dinner After Your Palm Cove Elopement

The Best Restaurant for Dinner After Your Palm Cove Elopement

One of my favourite things about photographing elopements is that the celebration doesn’t have to end when the ceremony is over.

After we’ve explored Palm Cove for your portraits, watched the sun set over the Coral Sea and captured those beautiful just-married moments, it’s time to celebrate. And if you’re wondering where to enjoy your first meal together as newlyweds, my recommendation is always the same.

Nu Nu Restaurant.

Why I Recommend Nu Nu for Palm Cove Elopements

I’ve photographed couples celebrating at Nu Nu after their Palm Cove elopements and vow renewals, and every experience has been exceptional. (I also love to eat there myself!)

The food is consistently outstanding, the service is warm and relaxed, and the location couldn’t be more perfect for couples who want their entire day to feel effortless.

One of my favourite memories was photographing a vow renewal where the couple enjoyed a private table on the beach beneath Palm Cove’s iconic palm trees. As evening fell, festoon lights glowed overhead, creating an incredibly romantic atmosphere that felt intimate, relaxed and unmistakably tropical.

It’s the kind of experience that turns your elopement into an unforgettable day rather than simply a ceremony.

The Perfect Way to End Your Elopement

One of the reasons I love Nu Nu is that there’s no need to rush anywhere after your ceremony.

Palm Cove is wonderfully walkable, so after we’ve finished your portraits you can simply stroll to dinner together, hand in hand, soaking in those first moments as newlyweds.

There’s something incredibly special about not having to think about transport, timelines or driving between venues. Your entire day flows naturally from ceremony, to photographs, to dinner.

The Tasting Menu Makes the Celebration Feel Even More Special

If you’re celebrating your wedding day, I’d highly recommend trying Nu Nu’s tasting menu.

Rather than choosing just one dish, you can enjoy a selection of beautifully prepared courses showcasing local Tropical North Queensland produce.

It’s a lovely way to slow down, toast your marriage and savour the experience together after the excitement of the ceremony.

Beautiful Photo Opportunities Before Dinner

Another reason Nu Nu works so well is its location.

Some of Palm Cove’s most beautiful photography spots are only moments away.

Before your reservation, we can wander beneath the towering palm trees, along the beach, onto the jetty or simply enjoy the soft afternoon light filtering through the avenue of palms.

Because everything is so close together, you’ll spend less time travelling and more time enjoying your wedding day.

A Great Backup if the Weather Changes

One thing I always appreciate when recommending venues is flexibility.

If tropical weather decides to make an appearance, Nu Nu has a beautiful indoor dining space, meaning your celebration can continue comfortably without compromising the experience.

Whether you’re dining beneath the palms with the ocean breeze or enjoying a cosy meal indoors while listening to the rain outside, you’ll still have a memorable way to finish your elopement.
