- What is their experience with children? It may not sound obvious, but family photography is more than just taking photos. Especially when it comes to children. There is a short time frame for your children to trust the photographer and feel ok with relaxing and having fun with them. Don’t be afraid to ask what their background is with working with children
- Are they confident in giving direction? Family photography can get a little wild. With Dads usually being dragged along kicking and screaming (sorry dads), and children up past their bed time or in a new environment, it can be a recipe for a lot of stress and anxiety. They need to be confident to take charge of the situation and give direction while still showing kindness. It’s their job to direct you into natural, playful and snuggly moments with your family so that you can relax 😊
