Yorkey’s Knob is the perfect place for a family session, when you have a toddler and a new puppy. Both can run freely along the long stretch of sand, and generally it’s pretty quiet.
I first met Cath & Steve when they had first become new parents. Now, two years later they were keen to update the family photo’s.
Cath has the most infectious laugh, and as a family they are all so relaxed and fun to be around. During their newborn session at their home, Steve played guitar and Cath played piano.
I love to mix in standard family portraits, lightly directed candid shots and pure documentary during my sessions with families. After a play on the beach, Asher was rewarded with a play in the park. I love to capture families as they are, in a particular season of life, because while we all love those smiling at the camera photo’s, it’s the fly on the wall shots we all love. How our children love us and look at us in ways that maybe we don’t see when we are bogged down with day to day goings on with work, maintaining a house and general busy life. And we all know that generally, it’s us Mum’s behind the camera 😉
Here are a few of my favourites from their family session at Yorkey’s Knob x
And just for fun… What it looks like working with puppy’s and toddlers 😉
