One of the most common questions I get is ‘What should I wear to my photoshoot?’ Now, I’m different to a lot of photographers in the fact I ENCOURAGE colour! What can I say, children love colour, childhood is colourful. I think it really just elevates the happiness and fun I aim to create in my family photos.
I am also one of the few who says ‘Wear what you want!’. Look, there is a time and a place to follow directions with clothing. It does elevate the feeling you are trying to get in a photo. Logos are distracting and neon colours cause colour casts and don’t really photograph well. For these particular mini sessions though, we are hitting the playground! Now is not the time for a ballgown! I mean honestly, if you want to wear your activewear, go for it! I always remind people that your photos are for you, and not social media. Meaning, you can share them, but don’t let the perfectionism of social media affect how you show up. Around here, you can be yourself.
