One of my favourite things to photograph is an in home family lifestyle session. We are all more relaxed in our homes, no-one is watching us being photographed, babies are happy in their own environment and it’s where we spend a lot of our time. Such a great place to capture memories that you can look back on. Especially if your children grow up in the same house for a lot of their life. Paul and Liz happen to have a STUNNING home too.
Why are in-home family photo sessions worth it in Cairns?
Living in the tropics, we often have rain and high humidity. In-home sessions are a perfect way to have your family photos updated without the worry of weather reschedules or anyone feeling uncomfortable and irritable in the heat.
I love to send out a questionnaire for my family photo sessions, that way I can get to know people before the session and can really prepare everything to capture the essence of each particular couple or family. Likes/Dislikes, memories, personalities. For home sessions, we can talk about particular day to day events that you would like to have captured. For Paul and Liz, they said they really wanted to have story time and bath time captured. I asked them to prepare me a list, so that way nothing was missed on the day. It’s amazing how quickly time goes at a session. Liz also had a secret request for an image for Paul for Father’s Day (which was yesterday, hence waiting to blog until now!)
