How Do You Manage Thousands Of Photos?
When discussing organising your photos, I once had someone tell me they had 64,000 photos on their phone. 64,000! I since had someone tell me they had 125,000 on theirs.
Can you imagine searching through that many photos to find one you need?! It would take hours! Not to mention the overwhelm.
I bet if you looked through your phone now, you would have a lovely selection of family memories, but the rest would be memes, screenshots, food photos and other things which not only take up phone space, but brain space as well!
I know you might think that as a professional photographer, I have my stuff together when it comes to photos, and I do. But that doesn’t mean it’s easy. It’s something I have to keep on top of regularly, or just like you, I get extremely overwhelmed by the amounts of photos I have on my phone.
Today I’m sharing my top 3 tips for managing the thousands of photos you take and receive each day. I hope you find them helpful 🙂
- Turn off autosave – Apps like WhatsApp and Facebook messenger will automatically save photos sent to you by others. That means memes, photos of other peoples avo on toast and other photos that are NOT YOUR MEMORIES are taking up space on your phone. Go to settings now and turn off autosave
- Delete unwanted images regularly – The only way you will stay on top of your photos is to delete duplicates, blurry images etc REGULARLY. As soon as it gets overwhelming, you won’t do it. Use a time you’d normally aimlessly scroll to make a start.
- Autoprint your photos – Use Chatbooks social media books to automatically print your photos from Facebook or Instagram. The only thing you need to do is upload to the app of your choice and Chatbooks does the rest! (You can find my post about my top 3 favourite things about Chatbooks here)
Did those tips help? Let me know in the comments, or if there’s anything more you’d like to know, just ask 🙂
