What is an activity session?

An activity session is about the most relaxed way to get family photos you can think of. If you think you will have trouble getting a Dad to take part (happily) or your favourite way to spend time together as a family is a certain hobby or day out, activity sessions are for you!

These are so much more than traditional family photos. You can include any activity or hobby you can think of! Swimming, playing at the beach, ice cream date, skate park, fishing off the jetty, hiking. Whatever way your family love to enjoy together, we can consider including it in your activity session.

Who are activity sessions for?

Activity sessions are for relaxed families who want something more than skipping down the beach at sunset. You love days out together and have hobbies you love to share. You want to remember not only your connection with each other, but the fun things you did together as your children grew. When you spend time with your family doing your hobbies, one parent is often not in the photos. I don’t want this for you anymore! Jump on your quad bike, grab your skate board, chuck your togs on or grab some bait and your rod and let’s have fun! No need to coordinate your outfits or worry about being all neutral. Don’t drag people out kicking and screaming at sunset (aka WITCHING HOUR!!). No cheesey posing. No stiff smiles.

What activities can we include?

As above, the world is your oyster. Have a think about your hobbies and interest. Do you love getting out on your boat? Fish off the jetty? Trip to the zoo? Love ice cream? A play on the beach? Mountain biking? Let me know your fave things to do together and we can figure out a way to condense it into a super fun and chill photo session.

Does this include maternity?

Of course! If you want to hang at the skate park and grab a pizza or sit on the pavement watching your kids ride their bike, or whatever, we can of course include your baby bump!

Are these sessions during the day or at sunset?

These sessions are all about embracing the activity. We work with what we have. If it rains, we dance. If it’s sunny and warm, we embrace those strong shadows. They tell a great story! Families who book these sessions embrace the chaos, come as they are and have a good time together 🙂

This family were visiting Palm Cove on holiday and wanted to include things that reminded them of their stay. They had a toddler so I just suggested a tropical fruit platter and a swim at their hotel pool!

Activities can be big or small. It’s all about quality time doing things your family enjoy.

This was part of an in home session but they decided to go for a swim, fully clothed at the end and have ice cream in their backyard. Some families choose to ride their bikes around their neighbourhood.

These guys love going away in their caravan and hanging out by their pool at home. Mum made cocktails (baby bump here) and we just hung out.
