What Does A Full Newborn Gallery Look Like?

When choosing a newborn photographer that is right for you, it’s great to be able to see what a full gallery looks like before you book. This way, you know what you can expect and decide if their style is what you are looking for.

Today, I thought I would share with you what a full newborn gallery looks like with me.

My experience focus’ on making getting newborn photographs as simple and stress free as possible. (Even Dads can get on board with it!)

The photos are captured in the comfort of your own home, because as a Mother of three young children myself, I know how hard it can be to leave the house. There are many reasons leaving the house after giving birth can be hard. These range from having had a c-section, feeling nervous getting out and about with your first baby, having to navigate toddlers and nap times,  siblings with sensory issues and so many other factors.

My photos focus on your connection as a family. I want your children to be able to FEEL how loved they are by looking at your pictures as they grow.

I work closely with you to create photos that are meaningful to your family. My sessions are baby/child led to ensure they feel comfortable and safe from start to finish.

What does baby/child led mean?

I don’t think I need to highlight that having professional photographs taken can be a stressful experience. Generally, Dads are brought in kicking and screaming (sorry Dads!) and young children need genuine engagement to hold their attention. I have to work within short time frames to ensure everyone can be on their way as efficiently as possible.

For this reason, all my sessions are baby/child led.

Before your session, you will have filled out my questionnaire which gives me a detailed description of your family dynamic. Maybe a sibling is struggling with the new baby, or there are health issues to be aware of. Perhaps you experienced a traumatic birth or are a blended family. Knowing these things in advance help me to prepare the session to suit your family’s personal needs.

Some siblings may show no interest in baby at all – so I may need to pull out some of my special tricks to encourage them to interact. One child may be super snuggly, while another may be a bit more reserved. Getting to know their little personalities means creating photographs that are unique to you.

So what does a full gallery look like?

While I am baby/child led, I do still follow a general workflow for my galleries. While your gallery may not be a carbon copy of these particular ones I am going to show you, you can definitely expect something very close.

These are a large selection of my favourites from these sessions. If you would like to view the absolute full gallery of either session, please email lizzy@lizzyhannaford.com.au or contact me here.
