Today I’m sharing with you Hannah and Simon’s in home newborn photoshoot with a toddler in Cairns.
I first met Hannah when I photographed one of her best friends weddings. Since then, I have photographed family photos for them, maternity photos in their home and now their in home newborn photoshoot.
I really love in home newborn sessions. When you’ve just had a baby, leaving the house is one of the last things you feel like doing. If it’s your first baby, you may not have the confidence to go anywhere except for necessities. If you’ve got other children to consider, it may feel too hard to go out with a newborn and multiple other children. Especially in Cairns when it can be very hot and humid, or pouring with rain.
Snacks come in very handy with toddlers. Lots of them. They also have very short attention spans. Being in their own home, they can snack as often as necessary without you having to worry about running out, and if they need 5 minutes to have some space, they have their own home comforts to relax with.
Hannah and Simon live super close to me in Trinity Park. So close in fact that I was able to walk to their session! I usually do a quick walk around of a family home to see where we will take the majority of the photos, but having done their maternity session recently, I was familiar with their home.
